!!!THE JIG IS UP FOLKS!!!

Ruddy stood still and silent as he watches the noodled man before him bumble about the procedures that would follow. A rubby eye flickering through the shadows of his large cowboy hat to glance down at the beakers pushed his way.

He wondered how this noodled man would react if he told him to fill the beakers instead.
Or if he forced the fella to forge his medical records right before his eyes.
Or if he put a gun to his forehead and ask this noodle man in a slow steady tone that actually- he was fine. And he’d be skipping the examination today.

But Ruddy did neither of these preferable options. Instead he listened coldly without a flick of expression as he shifted the toothpick from one corner of his lips, to the other. He’d prefer a smoke- but he doubted smoking the medical ward would be appropriate as a new recruit. And he had to at least play nice.

 

“Aye’.... Whatever yee say, chief.” 

“Mark today, as yee lucky day.” 

 

Wether that was a threat or good will, it was hard to tell from the low rumbled tone of a raspy smoke-eateen voice as Ruddy slowly reached over to grab the two beakers in one hand.
